NATURE OF WORK
Serves as the manager and supervisor of one or more specific division(s), work units, or departments in Adult Probation and Juvenile Court.; oversees operations and activities of staff that provide a variety of clerical, courtroom and other support services to the office.

Example of Work

(Illustrative Only) Provides administrative support and assistance in the daily management of the court, including the coordination of court resources involving judges, staff, court security personnel, attorneys, litigants, and law enforcement personnel; supervises, manages, administers and coordinates activities of one or more departments, divisions, work units and their assigned personnel; participates in numerous personnel management processes; reviews, recommends and implements quality control procedures to maintain compliance with statutes, rules, administrative orders, operational policies and procedures, various state and local guidelines; determines if office practices and procedures are in compliance with local and state court policies; gathers data and produces financial and statistical studies and reports; prepares schedules, work assignments, statistical and financial reports; participates in development and monitoring of budget; reviews staff operations and compliance to minimum accounting standards and other requirements; responds to, and within the scope of authority, resolves financial and non-financial issues and problems; determines staff and office training needs/requirements; oversees or may review incoming pleadings for jurisdiction, venue, compliance with statutes and rules; reviews and reports on case files in response to judges, judicial staff, attorneys or litigants prior to submission for judicial action; assures compliance with Public Information Laws; works with attorneys and/or litigants on case-related issues; may be assigned to manage a courtroom, call cases and coordinate case calendar/scheduling; oversees and provides court/case related information from judges and staff to local, state and Federal agencies; as assigned, serves as liaison between the court and the Administrative Office of the Courts, and other judicial and non-judicial agencies; prepares a variety of court documents including summons, notices, warrants, subpoenas and similar processes; computes applicable dates for service and return of service; affixes court seal, and prepares copies of documents; may enter case-related data into court recording system; responds to inquiries at the counter, by telephone and in writing that may involve research and coordination necessary to provide an accurate response; responsible for continuance or rescheduling of cases, and excuse or deferral of jurors; may accept monies paid for to the court; issues receipts and accounts for funds; may pull cases/file folders for court; identifies and recommends methods to improve management and operation of the court involving enhanced work processes, increased court system responsiveness, efficient use of judicial resources and quality service delivery; performs other functions as assigned; regular and reliable attendance is required.

Experience and Education

An Associate's Degree in Judicial, Business, or Public Administration, or a closely related field; AND, six (6) years progressively responsible supervisory, administrative, management experience involving personnel management, budget, complex office operations, caseload management, information systems or closely related duties; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved; ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: This classification requires the applicant to pass criminal background checks; a valid Arizona State driver's license may be required. Arizona Committee on Judicial Education and Training (COJET) yearly accreditation is required; PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a standard office environment and Court facilities.

Knowledge of: Applicable State of Arizona statutes, rules, administrative orders, policies and procedures, Federal rules and requirements; work under pressure in a highly dynamic environment with changing program demands and priorities; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with court employees, and the public; basic principles and practices of public personnel administration, court administration, management, supervision and public budgeting; basic principles and practices of personnel management, fiscal management, caseflow management, records management, automation, office management, jury management, space and equipment management, information management, and intergovernmental relations.
Skills in: Communicating effectively and producing materials for public dissemination; identifying operational standards for the court; organizing and coordinating the efforts of court personnel to accomplish office goals or objectives; analyzing administrative, operational, procedural, managerial, fiscal and other issues/problems and making viable recommendations for solutions.EOE/AA/ADAAA/M/F/V/D DRUG FREE WORKPLACE
Medical Coverage Category
The YCEBT is a self-funded medical plan administered by BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona (BCBSAZ). The employee is able to select from three (3) medical plan options with six (6) tiers that will best suit the employee's needs, dependents or families.
Plan Option 1: Preferred Provider Option A (PPO) or PPO A 900 deductible with $10.00 Wellness Incentive. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $20 monthly premium reduction.
Plan Option 2: Preferred Provider Option B (PPO) or PPO B 1,200 deductible with $10.00 Wellness Incentive. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $20 monthly premium reduction.
Plan Option 3: High Deductible High Plan - Health Savings Account (HDHP-HSA) or HDHP-HSA with Wellness Incentive.
HDHP-HSA Wellness Incentive for Employee Only option can receives upto $240.00 annual contribution to a Limited Purpose FSA card.
Southwest Service Administrator (SSA) Mexico PPO Health Plan: SSA is available to employees who are enrolled in YCEBT Medical PPO Plan. The SSA Plan pays 100% of hospital, medical, laboratory and prescription drug benefits, to a maximum of $5,000 per person per calendar year ($10,000 for two or more family members).
